Purpose of the Role To lead and supervise the successful execution of one of the largest cattle air export programs on record, consisting of approximately 112 Boeing 747 charter flights operating from St. Louis, Missouri to Adrar, Algeria. To ensure the safe, efficient, compliant, and on-time delivery of all project-related flight operations from November/December 2026 through December 2027. To provide hands‑on operational leadership across livestock handling, cargo preparation, ground operations, trucking coordination, airline operations and project execution. To manage a local workforce capable of delivering a high-frequency flight program operating multiple flights per week. To maintain the highest standards of animal welfare, safety, customer service and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle. To identify operational challenges proactively and implement practical solutions that ensure uninterrupted project performance. Key Job Responsibilities Serve as the primary flight operations lead for the St. Louis cattle export program. Manage the safe, efficient, and on-time execution of approximately 112 Boeing 747 charter flights. Coordinate all flight preparation and operational activities with airlines, ground handlers, trucking companies, veterinarians, livestock suppliers, airport authorities and regulatory bodies. Ensure all project milestones, operational requirements and flight schedules are achieved. Prepare and maintain accurate Operational Planning Documents, flight-readiness plans, checklists and operational records for each movement. Ensure all required aircraft equipment, livestock stalls, ULDs, facilities, personnel and other resources are available for each flight. Manage the timely preparation and distribution of air waybills, shipper certificates, health certificates, USDA documentation, customs paperwork and export documentation. Identify operational, safety, legal and commercial risks and implement appropriate contingency and corrective action plans. Respond promptly and calmly to incidents, delays and operational issues, escalating matters to senior management when required. Lead daily operational meetings, pre-flight briefings and post-operation reviews to maintain alignment across all stakeholders. Work with the Ground Operations Manager and Project Director to maintain staffing and work schedules that support multiple weekly flights. Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to project personnel while promoting teamwork, accountability, professionalism and safety. Maintain strong working relationships with customers, airlines, handling agents, transport providers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Monitor supplier and third-party performance, address service issues and support vendor onboarding, KYC and contract implementation. Provide accurate and timely operational updates, performance reports, challenges and corrective actions to customers and senior management, including out-of-hours coverage and travel as required.
